You know what saddens me?

How fast she has to talk.

If a man were saying that, he’d be going slowly to emphasise points. He’d be indulging in the occasional ‘you know’ or other filler words. He’d be able to stop for breath. Notice that she didn’t do that. She had the whole thing memorised and she got it out with barely a pause to breathe.

Why?

Because she expected to be interrupted.

What she said was awesome and is absolutely true, and is frankly underlined by the fact that she had to say the whole thing all at once for fear that she wouldn’t be able to say it at all if she so much as stopped to breathe because one of those older white men sitting around her would interrupt and roll right over her.

She got all that out in a minute and one second. A MINUTE AND ONE! THINK OF HOW MANY BLATHERING OLD WHITE POLITICIANS YOU’VE HEARD OVER THE YEARS THAT ARE SAYING GENUINELY NOTHING TO FILL TIME AND SHE BANGED OUT THAT CONCISE ARGUMENT THAT HAD NO HOLES FOR THEM TO HIDE IN FASTER THAT YOU COULD PUNCH A NAZI

See this picture? This comes from a town in Canada where a 24 pack of water bottles is 104 dollars and formula milk for a baby is priced at 55 dollars a pack. What’s more, a pack of diapers is 95 dollars and one head of lettuce is 26 dollars. Inuit people are starving in a country known for it’s generosity.

If you don’t believe this is true, you can find more images like this here. This is the only grocery store these people have in their small towns, and many people are going hungry & elderly are dying faster.

You’ll send aid to foreign children that are starving, so why won’t you pay a little extra to feed the people in your own country who work hard & still can’t afford the prices for healthy food for their families?

Please have a heart and reblog this photo to raise awareness that even in our own countries people are starving, join the movement and show the government that we won’t sit by and watch people starve. 

If you think this will make your blog ugly you’re wrong. Children in a first world country are getting sick & starving, and nobody is even aware it’s happening. You can let people know by reblogging and showing you care. People I am close to, my friends and future in-laws are going through this.

As someone who lives in Canada, I can confirm this as being true :/ things are crazy expensive up North and our government (note Harper) is horrible at helping out with things and has actually faked getting involved before.

In my email signature, my pronouns are directly underneath my name in an only slightly smaller font.

It’s February, and I already have secured a summer internship.

I’m in the top 25% of my class. 

You can be nonbinary, and you can be out, and you can still succeed. You don’t have to compromise. There’s going to be transphobic people, there always will, but being out does not mean you can’t pursue the career you want.

The most important thing, the most necessary thing, is to find support from other trans people and from allies who use your pronouns publicly and without shame.

Men are using a powerful hashtag to fight back against emotional abuse

According to NCADV, 4 in 10 people have experienced some kind of coercive control from an intimate partner. Sadly, #MaybeSheDoesntHitYou is raising much-needed awareness for a widespread problem.

This is disgusting. It really is. I hope that people gain awareness of this issue and their own situation and I really hope that we all find better.

I appreciate the hell out of the women reblogging this. As a survivor of such emotional abuse, I know it’s vital for men to step forward and talk about their experiences. The old “man up” narrative needs to die.

Fun Fact: That’s a statue of the fist which Joe Louis used to knock out Max Schmeling, Hitler’s favored heavyweight boxer in 1938. Schmeling won the 1st bout by knockout in round twelve, but Joe Louis came back in the follow-up match and laid him the fuck out in the 1st round.

Fun Fact: Schmeling was hated by the Nazis for losing to a black man and for having a Jewish manager, and he hated them right back, stating in 1975 that he was glad he’d lost the fight because the thought of  the Nazis using him for propaganda purposes sickened him. He also personally saved the lives of two Jewish children and later became lifelong friends with Joe Louis.

So maybe don’t refer to him as “Hitler’s favored heavyweight boxer”…
